Fluvanna County SPCA

Amazingly friendly knowledgeable staff that cares deeply for the animals they foster, house at the facility and even for those that they don't. We got a dog from them over a year ago and they remembered her when we went back to see about another dog to add to our house of furry pets and were extremely happy to see her and the progress that she made. They even helped us get a dog that needed to be rehomed because of landlord issues, that wasn't at the facility. They honestly care about the animals in the county and everywhere else. Would seriously give 10 stars if I could.

The staff and volunteers are absolutely incredible. When I first started to inquire about a specific dog, I was able to talk with a volunteer that knew and loved everything about her. I knew I had to see this dog and traveled to the FSPCA. The staff and volunteers helped us and made it super easy and stress free for us and the dog. We met the dog for the first time in a wonderful play pen that was well fenced with plenty of toys, shade, and water (and a kiddie pool). The dog was able to play and meet us on her terms, and I truly fell in love with the dog the second I touched her head. We walked on the trail, which was a nicely kept and shaded path, and made our way back to the building. We choose to do foster-to-adopt as our situation involved confirming she would get along with cats

These people are beyond sweet and have tons of knowledge on each and every animal in their shelter. My husband and I asked about one beautiful pit there and they fully admitted he has a limp, but is a very sweet boy. He is a puller, but knows his name, knows commands and calms down quickly. They told us they are about to test him on his ability to be around other cats and dogs. We asked if we could walk him and they just so happened to need volunteers to walk dogs last weekend ( they were low staffed). We fell in love with him and hope he is tested soon as we have other animals. You can tell that all of the volunteers there and workers really truly care about animals and people. We will absolutely go back.

The staff at the Fluvanna SPCA are incredibly friendly, efficient, helpful and professional, and they are laser-focused on the welfare of the animals in their care. My family and I just adopted two kittens from the shelter and they couldn't have made the process any easier or more pleasant. They're wonderful and supportive and we're delighted to support them in return. We'd recommend the Fluvanna SPCA to anyone considering adoption; an exceptional experience all around!

Staff knows the animals well, did great with helping introduce our girl to her new brother. Great property to walk the dogs on. Couldn't be happier with the adoption process.
