Falmouth Happy Cats

Our cat has always been well cared for at Happy Cats. We have been taking her there for the last 7 years. All cats are required to have updated shots, which means a lower chance of her catching something. Claire, the owner of Happy Cats runs a tight ship and is a very nice person as well. Highly recommended.

We recently moved to a new house and boarded our cat with Claire for a few days. Our cat gets very stressed with transitions and we were not sure how he would handle it, as we have never boarded him before. Claire put me at ease immediately and understood our cat's anxiety. She took great care of him and it was such a relief during a stressful time. The area where the cats are kept was clean and smelled much cleaner than any other "cat room" I have encountered at shelters and such. The kitty condos are pretty large (enough space for our 17lb. beast) and have window views to the outdoors. Highly recommend!

My cats have medical needs and can't be left alone. I have tried boarding them with vets offices and places that board both cats and dogs. Each time they would come home scared and agitated. It would take a few days for them to eat and settle back in. Happy Cats is like no other place to board your cats. The first time my cats stayed, they were there about 2 weeks. I felt comfortable dropping them off, Claire was kind and knowledgeable. I was able to call and check on them as I needed. When I picked them up Claire again put my mind at ease. She let me know how they had done and even picked up on a few habits I had missed. When we got home, the boys walked right of their kennels. They ate and drank and were calm and happy. My cat stayed at this boarding facility for three nights. She returned home being very sick with vomiting and diarrhea. First, I thought that was due to stress being away from home for a little while. After nine days of GI distress I took her to the ER at Portland Veterinary Hospital. The veterinarian confirmed she contracted a bacterial infection, most likely at the boarding place. With antibiotic treatment and anti-nausea medication, she started feeling much better. This business owner advertises her cat boarding place as a paradise for cats. However, when your beloved cat returns home from that "paradise" very sick, you start wondering how accurately those photos from their website reflect the actual environment (considering the fact that this lady does not allow pet owners inside

Claire took such good care of our furbaby. She had come well recommended from others on facebook and I was not disappointed. I felt like Cheddar was in good hands. She's super friendly and gives a great report on how your cat did during their stay. She was even attentive enough for us to bring up some questions for our next vet appointment. We'll definitely come back if we ever get another vacation.
