Exotic Birds Shop

I have been going to Exotic Birds for years. Today I went in to get my cockatiels over grown beak and nails trimmed. The owner is very professional and very kind with the birds. The store is clean and friendly. He carrys all kinds of birds, but he specializes in conures, pigeons and parrots. His prices are very reasonable with a wide selection of cages, feed and toys. I highly recommend Exotic Birds shop to all bird lovers

I left crying. This place is not well run. I was not greeted at all. And the kids were the only ones to interact with me. Got a peek of the back room and it's over crowded with birds, that my guess are in poorer condition because one escaped to the front and looked so sickly and scared. And the birds they do have displayed look ok to poor condition as well. They are spooked by any human presence. They claim they breed them but it's clear these birds have had no human contact. And the handling and managing of these birds is not humane. They use intimidation and give these birds the absolute bare minimum. How is this place legal?

I had a review on this shop before but apparently it was removed. We did by a bird from here 3 yrs ago, but that’s before we had any clue how AWFUL this place is run! Never mind the people who run it and how unprofessional they are, but the absolute NEGLECT of the birds they have there! We went in there about a year ago and I was furious! These birds have no human interaction and are very clearly in the worst conditions imaginable. I see the parakeets at Petco in better conditions than here! They also don’t want you to take pictures here because very clearly, they don’t want the true condition of their shop being shown on the internet. I wish they’d shut their doors, because those birds deserve better!

We hated everything about this place. The owner was trying to upsell everything. I get it. You need to make $$$. However, we have birds at home, with multiple cages and lots of toys, and basically all we need. We just wanted a new flock member. But this guy was so mad every time we explained we already had whatever he was offering. What really ticked us off was that he wanted me to buy a carrier. I said no. We live nearby and i was sure he'd get us a comfortable size box for a cockatiel. I had high expectations, apparently. He literally grabbed THE SMALLEST box he could find. I was flabbergasted. I was appalled. And it was a child, perhaps his child, who stuffed the cockatiel into the box that was like for a finch. THEN he got me to sign papers. The bird was squawking and wiggling, the c
