Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City

Dr. Frey and the team at ECEAH were extremely compassionate, honest, and caring in helping my sweet 13 year old calico cat, Juliet, receive the best level of care and comfort possible in her last days. Over the previous few days her health spiraled, and the staff were able to see her quickly on a Saturday. By that evening I found out too late that my sweet girl had metastatic cancer that was just everywhere... A week before this I had no idea she was sick. Although I have had family pets as well as my own, I had never had to make the decision to humanely euthanize my loved one to minimize their suffering. Super sweet experience with my bunny! He came home happy and calm, with no sign of stress or grudge. The staff was honest, caring, and very gentle with him during his check-up and vaccine. I really appreciated how patient and kind they were, he was absolutely fine afterward! 🤍 Highly recommend!

Overall, the medical care my dog received here was attentive and competent, and I appreciate the staff who focused on treatment and explained options clearly. The veterinarians and most of the team were professional and compassionate during a stressful visit. However, I did have one unprofessional interaction with a veterinary technician who confronted me about an unrelated personal topic after tending to an emergency with my pet all night. It was not relevant to my dog’s medical needs, the visit, or even the clinic. It was none of his business and very unprofessional. No client should ever be exposed to or tolerate anything of the sort. That moment was uncomfortable and detracted from an otherwise solid care experience. I'm not going to lie, this has been one of the best experience I've had at a vet emergency hospital. My bunny girl has an upper respiratory situation going on and they are SO communicative and patient. They were so kind and sweet to my bun and I received texts and call follow ups regarding her health. I got some texts asking how she was and then a few days later the doctor called and explained all her cultures and tests. In a state where its hard to find an exotic vet for well visit, an emergency exotic vet is even harder. Highly recommend them for your exotics!!! thank you all!!!

Took my cat here after she was sick all night. No one wants to get up at 3am and go to the hospital but the team at EAH in Ellicott City helped me manage through the stress. They got us in right away, talked me through what treatments and tests were needed, and were kind and compassionate even in the middle of the night. Could not have managed without the grace and generosity of the nursing staff and Dr. McKnight. The nurse I worked with (sorry I never got your name!) was wonderfully helpful and kept me grounded during the kind of night no pet parent ever wants to have. Called back the next afternoon to go over my baby's treatment plan and the day shift was just a helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you so much, EAH team!
