He had major issues with jumping, walking on the leash, not dropping things he shouldn’t have, running away, and human food hunting. We went to the initial consultation wanting the train and play program where he would come home each night and on the weekends. With 3 small kids at home, we quickly understood at the consult that training would take much longer because of the distractions he would have at home during the training period that would cause regression, so we opted for the boot camp. We got Puka, a German Shepherd and Catahoula Leopard mix, from a family member when he was about five months old. He became too rowdy for their daughter, and while we also have kids, we didn’t conduct any breed research beforehand. After spending a weekend with Puka, we fell in love with him and committed to being his family. We soon discovered that this breed comes with its own set of challenges. Puka requires significantly more stimulation than the average dog, and he is incredibly intelligent, which has made training a bit more demanding. We had an awesome experience with Elite Pro Training and especially with our trainer, Laurent. We started working with him when our puppy was just four months old to build a solid foundation in obedience and bonding. Laurent focused heavily on being fair to the dog and helped us unlearn some of our own authoritative habits that were not serving us or our puppy well. The biggest takeaway from our time with him was learning how to build a strong bond of trust so that our dog wants to obey, rather than obeying out of fear or pressure. We recently sent our two year-old dog to the six week training program. So sad to part with our fur baby for six weeks, but boy was it worth it. Our dog received the best training and we are now able to walk him and enjoy time with him and it has made his life so much more active and enjoyable for us. The staff here is very attentive, professional , always available, and Laurent walked us through the entire process of what the training entailed. I would definitely recommend them as they truly care for the dogs, as if they were their own!!!

Several months ago, my husband and I rescued a very young German Shepherd, about 2 years old, from Georgia where she was found tied to a pole 3 days after her family moved away. As with many rescues, she didn't just come with baggage. She came with an entire attic of anxiety, fear, and really no idea of how to be a dog. The only thing she liked to do was chew on sticks.
