Ebb Tide Kennels & Stables

My 2 dogs spent 2 weeks boarded at Ebb Tide about 18 months ago. When I returned, they were thrilled to see me, as expected. When I took them back for a nail trim, my 3yr old actually pulled out of his collar, he was so afraid to go in. My 2 yr old seemed to be ok. The 3 yr old's nails were cut with no issue. When the two yr old, much larger dog went in the back, I heard the owner scream at him "if you'd stay still, it wouldn't hurt!" This upset me, but I paid and left. As I said this was 18 months ago. To this day, my 2 yr old gets aggressive when his feet are touched. Even at night, on my bed, if his feet are accidentally rubbed on, he jumps and growls, occasionally showing his teeth. I will NEVER go back to this woman, and suggest others to be wary as well. My dog now has to be medicate

My friend takes her dog to Ebb Tide for agility training. I joined her to watch both a class and more recently an agility competition. Owner and her staff know their stuff. The competition was fun and I got to help with replacing poles if they got knocked down. There's also plenty of parking and an immaculately clean port-o-potty to use.

I had my dog TDI test there. Everyone was very encouraging, and helpful. The facility is a nice space to work dogs. Good parking. Easy to get to. I would only advise to provide an outdoor garbage for people to pick up after their dogs. I dislike having to put poop in my car.

Have trained at Ebb Tide in the late 80's of last century (then did Search and Rescue with my dogs). Retired and now started training again with Maya, a Landseer Newfoundland bred and born there. Highly recommended.

I purchased a puppy from Joan over 11 years ago and Gander is still doing great. As a breeder, the communication lines are wide open and Joan is very quick to respond to my inquiries and answer my questions.
