My husband and I absolutely love Dr. Hess and her staff. They have taken such good care of our dog, Murphy. He is an enthusiastic scavenger, and even with the use of safety locks, etc., has managed to consume non-edible items. Both times they saw him immediately and took excellent care of him. Also, Dr. Hess has been endlessly patient navigating his food allergies and sensitive stomach. Additionally, her vet techs are amazing- it's easy to get an appt for maintenance issues with ears and anal glands. You can tell they love the animals they care for and there's no better feeling as a dog-parent. Lastly, the groomers are fantastic with Murphy. He always looks so handsome after his cut, and we feel good knowing he's in safe and caring hands! Prices are affordable and fair, even on routine is

I'm sad to say this place has really gone downhill with their kindness, compassion, and empathy. Our family has always taken our animals to Dr. Karen's but we won't anymore. Our family pet was in the late stages of kidney failure and we were heartbroken knowing we were going to say goodbye soon. Dr. Karen was cold, blunt, and told us we were being selfish by not having put them down already. We left hurting even more and took our pet somewhere else where they were peacefully put to sleep with the kindness and compassion we should have received from Dr. Karen. Such a shame we used to love this place but the reviews echo our sentiment. They need to do better.

For the most part, good vet. Last week I took my dog for a nail trim. He is a difficult dog to handle and even his file states MUZZLE, we always accompany him to back office and have done this for 9yrs. This time even though I told the tech that a muzzle required she refused and took his leash, I attempted to follow and was told to stay. This was way out of the way my dog has always been handled. 1week later I get called by Animal Health Bureau that he bit someone. I was never told this by the vets office, so I was very confused. Then realized on that date he went for a nail trim. Rather than a muzzle, they threw a blanket on him to handle him. This scared this animal into biting I am sure. The tech had no regard for proper protocol in handling this dog, didn't inform the owner and called

Pleased with service for many years. Staff was always awesome until recent situation. Dr. Karen is straightforward, not real warm n fuzzy, but good care. What caused us to leave the practice was a 5-day wait for an appointment 2 times when our cat had an intestinal blockage. Called Friday, couldn't see us till Tues. Didn't even check with anyone, just told no. Went to urgent care, stayed overnight, blockage confirmed/resolved. Still treating w Rx, a month later, same symptoms, still couldn't see us for 5 days. Why have a Primary Vet if you can't be seen in an urgent situation? BTW, blockage confirmed again in most recent event.

Excellent care by both Dr. Karen and all office personnel. I was just at the office last week with my cat and I was very pleased. My family and I have taken my animals to Dr Karen for at least 15 years now. Dr. Karen is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and was very generous with her time, making sure that I understood what was going on, and her assistant, Eric, was very careful and gentle, handling my cat, Roo, who was in a very delicate state. I can't say enough good things about Doctor Karen and her personnel. ALWAYS 5 STARS.
