I’m not understanding these reviews. I went a month ago to try and locate my sister’s missing cat. The staff was sweet and helpful. The cat wing was super nice and clean. The animals looked well cared for. I went today looking to adopt a small older dog. The staff was super nice and helpful. I’ll be back looking often. I appreciate all they do

People supposedly want this shelter to offer better services. They want it to be a no-kill shelter and open for more hours. Well, you're going to need to VOTE for a local and state government that funds it properly. They can't get enough volunteers, so they need to be able to hire employees to offer the services that everyone is demanding. Whether you realize it or not, this is how politics affects your life. Same with how terrible the traffic is in Dothan, things don't have to be this way!

My dog got picked up a road away from me and I didn’t know till after they were closed and no one works emergency hours or anything so my dog had to stay the entire weekend . When we picked him up he smelled so bad we had to ride home with the windows down . He was all wet when we got there !! I was so hurt that my baby was in there. Needless to say from now on a location collar will be on him and he will never go back here .

This rescue is causing more harm than good! Should’ve told me to call and make the appointment so they’d be spayed at 3 pounds instead of saying call when they’re 3 pounds!! So they “Offered” to help with costs to get our cats fixed at 3 pounds but didn’t disclose there would be a waitlist months long! It’s important to note we did not ask! I could’ve made the appointment way sooner and so my cats didn’t go into heat. Everywhere takes months to get into and I didn’t know that! I was told they’d get in at 3 pounds and not when they’re 8 months old!!!! Very disappointing!

They do a terrible job.I had to push the city ordinance in order for them to do their job and still they do not enforce it. For about two years now I have asked who is responsible for traped animals on the weekend and all they told me is call the police. Although they should have been telling me that trapping is no allowed outside of animal shelter hours because that is what the city ordinance states in section 10.5. It is the 4th of July and no animal shelter is open in our area yet my neighbor still has a trap set. I will call tomorrow, but I bet he won't get any kind of punishment for braking the law.
