Conroe Animal Shelter

Clean, well organized, and very proactive on adoptions. Staff is very compassionate and there's a volunteer base as well. This is one city department that deserves more funding to grow with Conroe.

We adopted our kiddo, Barnabas, from here last month! He is such an amazing blessing to both of us! The people that we met during our visits with him prior to actually adopting were FABULOUS! The facility is SO nice, clean, well-staffed and cared for - I was so impressed with the entire experience! Barnabas was fully vaccinated and neutered when we adopted him! He was loved and cared for during his time here and I would highly recommend checking them out for your next BFF!!! They truly care & were so excited when we decided to finalize his adoption - it just made me feel even more confident in our decision to adopt from them.

I went for shots, heartworm test ect. here. They provide a great price to be able to do yearly shots and test. I am very grateful for this service. Also adopted some wonderful animals from here. Please think about adopting a beautiful animal from here.

Because our little dogs were scamps they got out of the yard one time and nipped a neighbor who was walking. She reported us to the police and we were forced to surrender them to this hellhole, Conroe Animal shelter for 10 days. We picked them up at 10:15 that final morning. The director Russell said one needed to go to the vet as he had been appearing sick. It is now one week later, and five of our little babies have died and a sixth will die probably today. Yes I was remiss in not getting their parvo shots but they never left the house and I never dreamed they would get parvo being in “quarantine” at the shelter but they did. This is not a clean healthy shelter! Please have your dogs that you may adopt from there because they really need to empty this shelter checked out at your Vet imme

Adopted 2 female kittens Nov. 2025. They stated to call back to schedule surgery once they reach 4 lbs. to have them spayed. I have called several times and I am told they will call back to schedule surgery and I am added to their list. No one calls back. They also need their microchips but the shelter won't respond.
