I brought both of my cats in for their annual appointment and we saw Dr. Caitlyn Martin. It was honestly a breath of fresh air to have a vet who takes the time to talk with you and clearly explain everything. She was incredibly kind and patient with both of my cats and made the whole visit feel calm and comfortable. One of my cats is a bit of a “chunky boy” who stubbornly refuses to lose weight despite being on weight loss food and getting plenty of exercise. Instead of making me feel like I was doing something wrong, Dr. Martin reassured me that I’m already doing the right things and offered a few additional tips to help. I am conflicted while writing this review. I had been going to Clover Basin Animal Hospital for all of my pet needs since we moved to Longmont in 2020. Things started out great and they had provided top-notch service for us and even helped us get our Shiba’s allergies under control when no one else could. The front office staff has always been so wonderful, and Dr. Gilbert showed us so much compassion while we battled with Myotonia congenita in our one Chow. She reassured us we had exhausted all measures that we could before having to make the difficult decision to put her down. Dr. Gilbert went on maternity leave and that is when I noticed a drastic change in the level of care we were receiving from the staff, especially with our new vet Dr. Garcia. This facility was a top notch first time they opened (we were one of their first clients ❤️), very sweet and caring staff and amazing vets. The front desk staff & techs are still very friendly and professional - especially the techs (we loved our visits with Natalie), that’s where the clinic’s heart is. However, you can tell that the staff is overworked, last year it seemed that this clinic was taking too many patients and couldn’t serve everyone as needed. If you get a PM appointment, sometimes you have to wait 25+ minutes because they run behind. When my dog was scheduled for a morning dental surgery, they did not start working on him until 2PM so he was just stuck in the kennel all morning (scheduled drop off was at 8:30AM). We brought our goldendoodle in due to sudden lethargy and refusal to eat—what we thought might be something minor turned out to be far more serious than we could’ve imagined. From the moment we walked in, we were met with compassion, professionalism, and an incredibly clean, welcoming environment. I want to show my gratitude for the veterinarian clinic. They are amazing wonderful people. We have lost two pets in a year and they were so kind and caring with helping us make the decision on what was best for those two animals.
