When I brought home my newest addition, I knew agility was something I was interested in, and CATC was the perfect facility to begin our training journey! We began with a STAR puppy class, are currently finishing up a sports prep class, and will move on to intro to agility foundations soon. I love that there is a clear path to set my puppy up for success through classes at CATC, for both of us, in this new adventure. The facility is easy to find, plenty of parking, and very clean. I have had Kirsten as our trainer, and she does a great job explaining things and catering to each individual dog. I love when you can tell that someone truly loves what they do, and that is very true in each person I have met working at CATC. I feel I should add I live down in Englewood, but this facility is abs
I have thoroughly enjoyed Basic Manners and Advanced Manners classes with Brooklynn. She presents skills in steps that lead to success and has a keen eye for each dog’s strengths, offering individual insights that are easy to understand. I’ve never used professional training for a dog before (lots with horses) but my 2 year old rescue is the perfect fit for all we have learned. I plan to continue classes at Canine Athletics in order to keep my pup’s busy brain happy and active.
We have done several private training sessions with Kirsten to learn how to better handle our Aussie. The improvement has been amazing. Kirsten is kind and patient, and knows how to pivot when the dog (or usually the owner/handler) isn’t getting something quickly. We also have taken private lessons with Jae. Very similarly, she is knowledgeable and patient as we learn the language of our dog and how to best handle her. We most recently took an intro agility class with Kirsten with our 8 year old Aussie. It was such a great experience for everyone! We learned a lot about just how to better handle her and she had a blast at each session. Kirsten did a wonderful job managing multiple dogs and handlers and ensuring everyone was safe (dogs were not out at the same time.) This was super import
We’ve had an awesome experience at Canine Athletics Training Center, especially working with Kirsten in both Puppy Preschool and Sports Prep Class with my dog, Onyx. Kirsten is knowledgeable, patient, and really tuned in to both dog behavior and human skills for effective training. She breaks skills down clearly, offers smart modifications based on each dog’s needs, and creates an environment that feels supportive and fun while still being structured. Onyx has made noticeable progress in confidence, focus, and body awareness, and I love that the class emphasizes safe movement, engagement, and building strong fundamentals. Highly recommend Canine Athletics and Kirsten if you’re looking for positive, effective training and a great start for dog sports!
I'm grateful to finally have a dog training place in my area and I'm relieved it's such a good establishment! Small local business, woman owned, bad ass, impressively knowledgeable, and classes are a blast for me and my dog! This is such a great place! The instructors really are experts and they make the classes fun and very informative for both the human handler and the doggo. How they set up the classes, at least for the sports prep class (prerequisite to most other classes), there's an open space in the middle of the room with gated off sections on both ends of the room. Depending on how many students there are, the instructor has the handlers and their dogs in each corner and if the class is big enough, a handler and dog in each gated area so there's no interacting between dogs.
