Update: As the experience below remains true, a second trip to rescue a dog who was on the euth list was opposite. They were more kind. The folks that offered the original experience were not present. The folks that were there were pleasant. Original post: They treat you like a criminal or you are trying to abandon a dog. We are having freezing weather, below 30 degrees and we took a dog to the animal control that looked in distress. We tried to call them but there was no answer. Accusing a concerned citizen of Clayton County of abandoning their dog and threatening an investigation to include inquiring with their neighbors is RIDICULOUS. Also making the assumption that the dog is being abandoned because a dog isn’t attacking the person bringing in the dog is RIDICULOUS. Change your tactic
I went to this location a week ago and asked for a cat trap. Short guy came from the back and asked why I needed a trap. Duh, because there are several stray cats in my neighborhood. He then tells me that I, a Clayton county resident, cannot get a trap because the cats could belong to someone. I used to work for CCA, I know how this works, Pop. If I ask for a trap regardless of what your opinion is, give me the damn trap. I asked to speak toTiffany and or Gina, who never came out to speak to me. I told the guy that I would call Clayton County Board of Commissioner and he got upset and said he'll give me a cat trap just this one time and said there was no need to threw out name. Yes I had to because he refused to give me a cat trap. Who the hell do you think you are Sir? If I ever come back
This place should be shut down. All the dogs in there look poorly taken care of. They treat anyone coming in like a criminal. The lie about why they can't take a dog you found and they workers are rude. Don't waste your time. Just go to McDonough. These folks weird.
I have a small 1 year old chihuahua named Louie that I am in a dire need to find a good loving home for, please. If anyone would like to have him, please let me know asap. I have to relocate and I can't bring him with me. I will be at the clayton county animal control facility today.
The people here are really friendly and helpful. I went looking for one new farm puppy, and ended up adopting two puppies and a pig 😅. I love that the dogs and cats are spayed/neutered and vaccinated before they go home. If you go to adopt from them (and I hope you do) be sure to bring cash for the adoption fee. I really can't say enough good things about the people and the facility. The lobby and the kennels all look clean, but there's no offensive smell of heavy cleaners or fragrances. Things seem to be kept orderly and everyone I met was happy to help with any questions I had. Fantastic work they're doing here, I really appreciate these wonderful people!
