Beware this shelter. Here’s my experience with trying to turn in a kitten we had found: 1. The man at front desk was unprofessional. He took up all of our time getting OUR information instead of assessing the poor kitten and/or taking her back to be taken care of properly. 2. The kitten sneezed ONCE (1) and he *immediately* started jumping to conclusions. Saying “Oh, well she might have feline leukemia, we may have to euthanize.” ??? 3. Told us we had to leave the carrier AND the kitten outside (in 94° weather) as to “not infect anything”, even though he had taken the kitten out of the carrier prior to check for a microchip (the kitten obviously did not have a microchip.) This place is more than I expected: people are very friendly, polite, and professional, always open to help, to advise, and support both the animals and the people who go there for assistance. This place is safe, with an anti&kill policy, where ferrel animals are treated with care, where they benefit of all check ups necessary, screened for lethal diseases, vaccinated, fixed, weighted, dewormed , estimated for their age, all for free. Kudos for this Friday only program that the City of Wylie put in place to care about our friends in the wild. Sincere thanks to the city and all personnel who dedicate to this nobel job. I'm really impressed by Mr. Helmink, who is very amiable, and a great advisor to have due to his kind heart, extensive knowledge, and professionalism. He is always open

Called while they were closed for lunch, a very nice woman answered the phone, I told her which dog I was interested in and she let me know he was still there. Drove up after they reopen, the animal control officers were super friendly. Sadly they said he came in as a stray, no one came to claim him. He was malnourished and missing his fur. The shelter was able to put some weight on him, and get his fur to start growing. He is the sweetest boi ❤️😍🙏

Great staff here in person and quick when using the app. They do their best to reconnect, rehome and keep pets with their owners. Zero complaints here. They’ve been an ally more times than I can count. My girl came from here and they went above and beyond to help her find a home.

Wonderful staff. They take great care of those animals. I love adopting from here
