City of Forney Animal Shelter

Got our June bug from here they gave us a full starter kit. We're super easy and fun to work with. We are hoping to bring home ala little kitten named nugget here soon so if we do will update.

My wife and I adopted a beautiful cat from here back in 2020. We adopted Drake aka “Hennessy” aka “Hemi”(yes like the engine). A grey shorthair tabby. He’s turned up to be a healthy, happy, sweet cat. Couldn’t be happier! Thank you so much for sponsoring our adoption and making the process easier. What a great place. They really do a great job with their whole operation. I recently adopted a dog. They were thorough in questioning me to make sure I wasn't a bad person that they would be sending a dog home with me. They also made sure my current dog was a good fit with my new perspective dog. You should adopt from the shelter and rescue these wonderful animals.

Terrible people, my brother found a box with 4 puppies in it late in the night in Forney. They looked about 3-4weeks old, He brought them home and we called first thing in the morning to get them picked up as we can’t have extra pets at this time. They said they couldn’t take them because we dnt live in Forney but we could go back to where we found them in Forney and then call for someone to come out. My brother does as he was told and ends up getting told that they won’t come get them and if he leaves them there he’d get a felony charge cause they have all our information. How silly is that ? Apparently it’s a crime to be a Good Samaritan now, lesson learned tho.

The staff really care about the animals here. From reuniting animals with thier humans to finding strays new homes. The volunteers work hard to help with adoption events and so much more.
