City of Columbia Animal Services

I had a wonderful experience with City of Columbia Animal Services. I volunteered to foster a dog who had been neglected, and I had no supplies at all. The staff was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful from the moment I arrived. They generously donated a dog house, straw, and blankets to make sure she would be warm and comfortable. Their compassion and willingness to help meant so much, and I truly appreciate everything they did. I’m very grateful for their support.

It was a wonderful experience! My family member left his dog with me for 5 months I grew such an attachment only for him to take him back. I didn’t want to fight it. Something was missing in my heart. I’ve dealt with so much loss in my life, taking him from his safe spot his home really hit me hard. I went to the Humane Society to find a fur baby for me that no one could take. I found her. She’s so smart and kind. A bit hyper but she’s learning to relax. I thank you guys so much for everything! This is the best gift 2026 could’ve given me. Fast process. We are happy!

Very happy with my experience with Columbia Animal Shelters. I felt like the staff really cares about all the animals and are doing the best they can. I also appreciate that they do not breed label and from what I have noticed are honest about the animal’s temperament and personality which are things to look for in reputable shelters. After losing my childhood dog who came from here years ago I was blessed with a new loving companion, Toddi. Thank you, CAS, she is a wonderful partner!

I adopted Vivian from here almost a year ago now and she is the sweetest, greatest cat and best friend I could possibly ask for. Thank you for everything you do for these animals.

Staff is super nice and try their best. They really care for these animals and even celebrate when they get adopted. I found my best friend in dog form here and I couldn’t be more glad. Thank you city of cola animal shelter!!
