The staff is very friendly. The vet techs are very dedicated and can answer your questions with ease. The faculty is very clean as is the cats room and dog kennels. They have a great place if you're taking a dog out and want to play with him or have some one-on-one time. If you're looking to adopt. The adult cat room was open. It was very clean. It had areas for them to play in. They recently came under the Charleston County Animal Society as the Berkeley campus. They're going through a transition so if you have to be a little patient but I had no problems. I have adopted 3 animals from this shelter and all 3 are amazing animals. Specifically my dog which has gotten many compliments on how he acts around other animals. I couldn't have done it without this shelter, thank you for letting me find my best friend.

They are rocking it! They are busy crazy busy!! I had to bring in 5 throw-away kittens that someone put in a box and left on the hwy and didn't seal up the box so the kittens were climbing out! Now, they are safe and will be adopted out.

Many thanks to Courtney who took my call while I was at Pet Smart looking at my, soon to be, new kitten/cat to be. Courtney arranged for a local volunteer to come over and give my wife and I a chance to interact with Sarah, the new pretty kitty that we soon took home with us. It has only been 2 and 1/2 hours - we have confined her to the sun-room, for the next three days, which has her potty box, her food and water, a new fuzzy cube to sleep/hide in, her new feather toy, her cat nip infused scratch pad and her crate in the event she wants to sleep in that, which I doubt will happen as there is a soft fuzzy blanket on the couch that she has yet to discover, but once she does, then that's it.. Additionally she had investigated every square inch of this room and seems really happy with her

This lady was very rude and disrespectful towards me and I could hear her talking about me to the other staff that was in the building, that I pissed her off. Im just trying to help these kittens not be feral stray cats in my neighborhood, I've never done this before so I dont know all the rules and regulations but thats not a reason to treat a person poorly. You never know what someone has going on in their life. You had me in tears when I left that day, you need to do better at being a nice human being.
