Canine Training Association is the best dog training group I have ever worked with in my more than 25 years of being a pet parent. The trainers emphasize building a positive and loving relationship with your dog, not dominating your dog into obedience. They encourage you to work with your dog as a team, creating a partnership between you. They have helped us troubleshoot many challenges we have had with our dogs over the years that extended well beyond teaching them basic manners. They helped us cope with aggressive behaviors and how to incorporate a rescue dog into our home. The trainers are kind and supportive while also holding high standards. It is a very positive learning environment. My dogs and my family are happier for having gone there.

I highly recommend CTA for dog training. They offer a wide range of classes and provide training opportunities for beginners up through seasoned dog owners. I have taken three dogs to their facility in Beltsville over the past 6 years and we have participated in several different courses (Basic Obedience, Intermediate Obedience, Canine Good Citizen, Urban Canine Good Citizen and Basic Agility). The trainers are experienced and knowledgeable. Since using their services, our dogs have become better mannered and more well adjusted. They have traveled cross country with us several times and can accompany us to breweries and outdoor restaurants because they are confident and comfortable. We can enjoy more of life with our dogs because of CTA.

Canine Training Association has two locations. One is in Davidsonville. The other is Beltsville which has 2 indoor rings for their obedience classes. An adjacent building is their agility building. I have been training there for years, starting with my first dog, a rescue named Dino. Their instructors are all volunteers with practical experience in helping train family puppies and adult dogs to be better around the home as well as advanced training for obedience, rally, agility, Canine Good Citizen, Trick dog, musical freestyle, and conformation handling. Something for everyone! I started there as a member, then assistant, and am now one of the obedience instructors.

CTA is a great place to train your dog at a reasonable price. Laila and I go to several classes including agility which she loves.

Great place to start basic training for a puppy or dog. The instructors are serious and have a lot of experience. You can not beat the price at about 10 dollars a class. The facility is an industrial parkway tucked away which can be a bit dark. Now with the ICC it should be convenient for even more people to go to the Beltsville location.
