Buncombe County Animal Shelter

They didn't help me at all, they filled out paperwork but did nothing, I'm sure they are overwhelmed, but I needed action and all I got was burocracy, sadly my kitties will pay for it!

The staff here is amazing. My dog got lost on the interstate. When our car broke down they went above and beyond to help me find and reunite with my fur baby. from the moment, I called they were on it helping me post pictures getting the word out and they located my baby within an hours thank you guys so much. Keep doing what you’re doing. Your love for animals truly shows and I can’t say how thankful I am for this animal shelter.

I had to drop off a stray I cared for 10 days. It was really hard and sad, but the team there made me feel way better about leaving him. It's a great team who really, really cares - about the animals and the humans. Empathy would be a big word around my experience. I broke down in tears and the person helping me set the blanket down to make themselves completely available, and I feel like that was exactly what I needed in that moment. They held space for me. 10/10. Picture of sweet bubba-boy who will be available for adoption very soon, if not already!

I wasnt happy about how they handled a surrendering dog that nipped by fear. All they thought was... he's dangerous.. and i know that they never evaluated him at all.. they said the person who did this was out of town.. this poor dog was kept in the dark, no outside time.. way over 30 days.. gosh, they were going to put him down.. saying that cant get near him... bull.. sh.. i brought him home.. he's the love of our lifes. The patience was not thete.. he needed understanding... so loving, and smart.. and beautiful..
