I highly reccomend trusting in Dr. Schaele and his team for your pet’s care. Since working with him, my experiences have been wonderful here. The gentleman at the front desk is very attentive, calm and kind. Dr. Schaele has been a wealth of information throughout my pups cancer journey. The way he explains the medical journey for your pet is easy to understand, and very personable. I have found such relief in Dr. Schaele’s explanations, care advice and health recommendations. You can really tell he is passionate about veterinary care and treats your pet as if it was his own. I trust in the service and care, always at BGAH. If you treat your pets like family and love them dearly, do not bring them here. We first came to this vet because of the positive google reviews. Initially, this vet was helpful and caring. Annual checkup, blood tests, vaccination. Over time, their care significantly degraded and it became my and my wife’s responsibility to manage all aspects of care for our pets while paying thousands of dollars to this vet for poor treatment. Several examples: 1) summer 2025 my wife’s cat had thyroid issues, which the doctor helped identify through a blood test. The medication he prescribed caused severe side effects as it’s known to do; my wife called and explained, at which point the vet said he’d come up with a new treatment plan. After 3 weeks of follow up calls, no treatment plan and no responses,

COMPASSIONATE! If you only read one word of my review, then at least you know the most important part. I never visited this animal hospital before, but I was blown away by the compassion and care they gave to a total stranger! They treated my cat and I like they knew us for 5 years, rather than 5 minutes. The office manager Jack and the vet Dr. Schaele are perfect for their jobs and they truly cared for the well-being of my best friend. I had the worst decision to make and I had to say goodbye to my best friend that day. I couldn't have prayed to find better people to help me through such a painful ordeal. I had a huge hole in my heart filled with pain, and the staff at this hospital went above and beyond to try and fill the void with incredible compassion. Every single person I encounter

We absolutely love Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the doctor was so caring and knowledgeable with our three mini Schnauzers. They made our pups feel comfortable and took the time to answer all our questions. It’s clear they genuinely care about both the pets and their owners. Plus, the half-off shots on Wednesdays is a great bonus. We’re so glad we found this place!

Upon my first visit everything was fantastic. The staff was attentive, understanding and thoughtful. They prescribed my cat medication for her thyroid issue. When my cat began having the expected side effects, I contacted the office and asked for another care plan, as my cat was vomiting and continuing to lose weight. After a few weeks of following up with no response, I requested a special food prescription via chewy. This also took multiple follow up calls and a couple of weeks to be approved. I thought I had found a gem of a vet close to home, but unfortunately I can no longer bring my pets here due to the delay of car and poor communication.
