Broward Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital

My rabbit was very sick and my regular exotic vet couldn’t fit us in for a same day appointment, so they referred me to Broward Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital. My bunny was able to be seen by Dr. Kelleher immediately as an emergency visit, which cost $150, but that was fine with me, as he was in desperate need of vet care. He was hospitalized for three nights and thankfully, thanks to Dr. Kelleher’s care and same day emergency appointment, he survived!! The office is lovely, bright, and clean, conveniently located, and lots of parking. All employees that I interacted with were pleasant. We just had our follow-up visit and my bunny’s blood values are all normal! Thank you, Dr. Kelleher for saving our rabbit with your prompt care and hospitalization.

Took our Chico, guinea pig, in for his first visit. The staff and vet were so personable! The office is quaint and clean. It was good visit, his check up went well and they trimmed his nails. He squealed just a little. They had rabbit for adoption.

Our Lionhead bunny is turning 12 years old thanks to the exceptional care she has received. Around 6½ years old, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer, and the team was able to perform emergency surgery that saved her life. She has also faced ongoing front incisor issues, and through every challenge, the doctors and staff have been there for us. I brought my 1-year-old ball python in for a visit and this was, without question, one of the worst veterinary experiences I have ever had. The doctor was extremely rushed, dismissive, and barely answered any of the questions we asked. When we asked for guidance on temporary enclosures due to mites, the response we got was, “Use your head, get creative.” Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. We have had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with this veterinary clinic. At our first visit, X-rays were taken and we were told by Dr Madrigal doctor that everything was clear and that our bunny was simply being picky and not wanting to eat. When our bunny did not improve, we returned for a second visit and saw a different doctor. Dr K, reviewed the same X-rays and immediately pointed out fluid in the lungs, explaining that this was likely why our bunny was struggling to breathe. She even expressed surprise that the first doctor had not noticed this.
