Brazoria County Animal Control

I first want to say Officer Jennings is professional and compassionate. We found a wandering dog yesterday on the beach and animal control was suppose to come pick it up but they did not for 3 hrs. We spoke to a sheriff on beach that said if we decided to take it home and wait for owner to call animal control. We called animal control yesterday and connected with a man on duty. He was curt and seemed uninterested. When we received no follow up from him, I texted him twice and called him today and received nothing. I called the main number and got connected with Officer Jennings. She followed up on leads and I met up with her to transfer dog. Been battling stray dogs at my house for days. Called and they literally said “we can come spray them with a water hose”. When I told them I’ve already tried everything simple they hung up on me and transferred me to a sheriffs office where I sat on hold until I gave up.

Absolutely no help. Very rude and disrespectful. I called for someone whose dog killed their other dog. (Owner was a mess, for obvious reason , so I called animal control for them) Animal control was no help. The lady I spoke to was very rude and harsh, said there is nothing they could do and offered no suggestions on what we could do. There are children in the home so they are left with a dog that has killed their small pet, a pet that it has lived with for years, and could now also be dangerous to children. I am just in complete shock that animal control is not available to control animals. And what are they going to do if this animal attacks the owner or the children? 16 years ago, I rescued 2 chocolate lab mix female puppies about 4 months old who were litter mates just hours before being euthanized. The sweet girls came down with parvo and miraculously survived. I Loved and Cared for my sweet girls for 14 years and gave them a loving home. The girls traveled with us all over the US and had the best life and care any dog could ever want. We lost them a month apart due to old age and cushings disease. Tammy who picked them up off the street said I should take both as they were sisters! Best decision I made. Thanks Tammy and the team for all you do for these helpless sweet pets who deserve so much more in life. It’s a hard job you do and also an important job.

I called Animal Control regarding an incident that occurred with my dog being attacked by a dog running free. I spoke with a lady by the name of Tammy. She was very polite, helpful and professional. She took my information and said she would to try to help locate the owner of the stray dog(s). I have no complaints of how my call was handled. Nor did I experience any rudeness what so ever, as some have stated in previous reviews. Maybe the previous reviews were taken seriously and changes have been made to make sure all calls are handled professionally.
