We brought our 3-year-old cat to this emergency vet because we suspected he was experiencing his second urinary blockage within a month. Given how frequently these blockages were happening and how painful and recurring they can be, we made the incredibly difficult decision to request euthanasia. This was NOT an easy choice. He was family. But we were trying to prevent ongoing suffering and a poor quality of life. We were told he was not blocked (though it was unclear what diagnostics were performed), and while waiting, we could hear staff in the back making judgmental comments about our situation. During an already heartbreaking moment, that lack of compassion was devastating. Ultimately, they declined euthanasia and decided to hospitalize him overnight for fluids, observation, and medic

My animals have been patients with Bolton animal hospital since 2019. This animal hospital will always be my go-to even if it’s a 45 min drive. I full heartedly trust the doctors and nurses at Bolton and have had nothing but great experiences here. They have taken care of my animals as their own even during the hardest times. From my tiniest little fur babies to my bigger fur babies they have always been well cared and loved by Bolton. Strongly recommend.

We have a small pug who accidentally ingested a very small amount of grapes, and after reading how toxic they can be to dogs, we were understandably panicked. We called several emergency vets in the area, but no one was willing to offer any guidance and only directed us to poison control, which charges $110 just for a phone consultation. We finally called Bolton Veterinary Hospital, and we are so grateful that we did. From the start, they were incredibly kind, compassionate, and helpful over the phone. We explained our situation, and the woman we spoke with immediately relayed the details to a doctor. The doctor reassured us that our dog would likely be okay and provided clear instructions on what to watch for and what to do if anything changed. They took the time to answer all of our qu

We don’t use Bolton Vet because of the distance, but when our dog had an emergency, they took us in and helped us in a very big way. They were efficient and helpful and it was everything we needed and more. While we’re not close enough to go there routinely, we really appreciate their emergency services and highly recommend them to anyone who needs help.

I really don’t ever leave negative reviews but I needed to leave one this time. We were long-term clients at BVH, and my dog was an established patient there with documented cardiac disease. On a Sunday night after he experienced what appeared to be a syncopal episode, we contacted the hospital for emergency guidance. We were informed by staff that the only doctor on duty was in surgery and that there was no veterinarian immediately available to evaluate him. We were advised not to bring him in. The receptionist’s response lacked urgency and compassion, which was deeply troubling given the seriousness of the situation and my dog’s known cardiac condition. For a facility that represents itself as a 24-hour emergency hospital, this experience was unacceptable. If an urgent patient cannot
