Blue Ridge K-9 Training Center

I am a new puppy owner. What a job. The classes I have started with my puppy will be a huge help to me and my new little bubby. We both started learning the first night. I'm looking forward to learning even more as my puppy grows. Pat and Judy know their business well.

Great value- inexpensive classes, facility is an outbuilding (so don’t expect fancy but great for messy puppies). Took puppy classes in a group and my pup has been so much better behaved! When he had a bad day at class (wasn’t listening well), the instructor stayed to give me some tips to help. He has learned basic commands like sit, stay, wait, heal, twirl, and lay down as well as more complex tasks (healing with distractions- people, treats, etc) and how to adapt to new obstacles (walking through a ladder that made noise when he hit the rungs). Very happy with my experience! :)

Was not impressed with this set up. Very old, and inside was not the cleanest. Too much talking and not enough activity for the dogs. Too long for puppies to sit and endure. Much of what was shown was information I had seen already online,...disappointing. They clearly could see I was struggling with my puppy yet did nothing to offer any helpful tips or just step over to help me. I paid for the entire course and never went back to any class, yet they never called to ask why, and kept money. Whatever, I have since found another trainer, and it has been great.

So far so good. I've only had one class, but tonight is the 2nd. I am very excited. The place is clean and organized. They willingly answer all questions. I don't remember exactly, but the class was about a dozen.

We've talked about how good the instructors are at the center, but what a lot of people don't realize is the community service contributions that come from Blue Ridge K-9. Until her parents' illness, Pat served on the board of the Antietam Humane Society in Waynesboro, PA. She let me know about a dog that I ended up adopting. She found homes for two dogs that day just by calling people she knew.------------------- The center hosts a low-cost rabies clinic every September. She and the dog club members also do handling demonstrations at community events.
