Blue Mountain Animal Clinic

We think highly of Blue Mountain Animal Clinic. Worth the time and inconvenience to drive for great veterinary care that listens, doesn't try to sell you on every service and test. Genuinely cares for your pet wellbeing and keeping them healthy. No guilt trips here, just honest advice amd counsel. It doesn't hurt that services are half the price of our former suburban Vet, who was always selling the next service. The babies don't stress about visits here too, which says a lot. Generally easy to get an appointment or prescription as needed, and convenient reminder cards when shots or checkups are due. What's not to love!

I have gone to Blue Mountain Animal Clinic for close friends twice. Both times I was responsible for animals who needed extreme care that required sensitive providers. The first was a dear family cat that was old (14 years old) and was extremely ill and needed to be humanely put down. The team allowed us to go back to a private room to say our goodbyes, explained the process thoroughly, and allowed us to exit out the back for added privacy. The compassion showed and allowing us to take our time to say our goodbyes and grieve was extremely valuable and impactful to the family. The second, was a dear friend's pet dog who was very ill. They were so concerned about losing her, and had to take her in every day at first for care and treatment. This family friend needed assistance with financing

If you have a diabetic cat or dog, I highly recommend Dr. Kristina Pauley at Blue Mountain Animal Clinic in Luray, VA. This is my 17-year old diabetic cat, Shye. When I first brought him to see Dr. Pauley, his glucose numbers were way out of range and he was literally pulling his hair out. Dr. Pauley made wise decisions based on his age and health issues, and within 3 months he was much better. He continues to thrive (as best as he can!) two years later under her care. Thank you! We love you Dr. Pauley!

On vacation, my one year old German Shepherd started limping. I researched vets in the area and decided to go here. I am so glad I did because this place was phenomenal. The whole place was great from start to finish- they brought her in a side door so she didn’t see other dogs, let me bring her to the car before I went back in and paid. They were great with her (even though she can be aggressive) and she didn’t even need a muzzle. Dr Clark was amazing. He explained everything to me and diagnosed her perfectly. He prescribed meds for her (which worked immediately), and even called the next day to check up on her. Also, the billing was extremely reasonable, I was expecting to pay double than what I did. There are no words to describe how great this clinic is. The people are very nice and treat you like family. Most importantly, they take very good care of your animal! We have been taking Gunner here for about 5 years (since we adopted her). We like each veterinarian so much, we just pick randomly who we want Gunner to see that day. They all have their own strengths--and together they make the perfect team! Dr. Clark, Dr. Kline, and Dr. Pauley, thank you so much for taking care of our Gunner and helping us keep her young!
