We're new to North Carolina, and we never thought we'd find a vet as wonderful as we had in TX, but Dr. Mark is just that. We are so grateful to have found Birkdale Animal Hospital. The feeling that our dogs are valued patients — not just a number being rushed in and out the door — is something every pet parent wants, and that’s exactly how Dr. Mark and staff treat us. We have been bringing our dog, Archie Winkler, to Birkdale Animal Hospital for 3 years, and the quality of care is consistently excellent. Dr. Mark was incredibly thorough and knowledgeable, taking the time to clearly review his blood work and answer all of our questions about Archie's health plan for the coming year. This was my first visit to Dr. Mark. I went on the recommendation of a friend. My former vet seemed to have lost that special connection when they were purchased a few years back. As a new patient, our senior dog, Rosie has some senior issues that my former veterinarian was not attending to on a regular basis, namely being able to get medications on a consistent basis. Dr. Mark reviewed he records and took immediate action to get her covered with her medications at the best possible cost. I was really impressed with his reasonably approach to managing chronic issues. He was able to my mind at ease by putting everything into perspective.

We love Birkdale Animal Hospital and both of our dogs have been under their care for the last 6 years. Our dogs are genuinely cared for and the approach is what's best first for the animal then owner. The recommendations for care never feel pushy and the time spent with us is not rushed. We never feel under pressure to make a decision and always leave knowing the next steps we are taking are the best ones for our dogs. We even had to go through putting one of dogs down and hands down had the most supportive care and guidance throughout that process. All of the staff is incredibly friendly and you feel as if you're talking to a friend or co-pet owner of your animal.
