Love how they say they’re open and we drove over half an hour with my 6 year old to surprise him bc all he’s ever wanted was a kitty of his own. We’ve been hyping him up for his surprise for A WEEK waiting for today. Well, we pulled up and no one, NO ONE was there. Doors locked. So I called and left a message at 11:37AM and they haven’t returned my call and it’s now almost 4PM. My son is devastated and I’m extremely angry with this “rescue”. If you depend on ADOPTIONS don’t you think you’d be open when you said you are? And let y’all call me back and tell me some lies like you’ve told these other people about how they must’ve had the wrong place. NOPE. Right place unfortunately. Do not do business with these people. First impressions stick and we would’ve taken home a kitty today and gave
I accidentally ran over my cat. Thinking the worst, I brought her here. They did xrays, and a full exam. Miraculously, it seems I only pinched her elbow and she had a cut that needed staples. They found an infection she had previously and treated that as well. In the following days, she was not eating or drinking on her own. In all, we visited 3 times until she was eating, drinking and back to her normal self. This was no small feat as she's at least 17, possibly 19. These people are miracle workers and all they care about is the animal. They work with you with payments and appointments. Truly the most incredible place I've come across for cats. Unfortunately, they are very underfunded. If you need help with your cat or any cat or any other animal, this is the place. If anyone has a lot o
The ranch is a sanctuary for the precious, unwanted cats of Louisiana. The owners take in the most needy animals in need of specialized care, the homeless, and those about to be euthanized. This is a most worthy cause in which to donate. Visit the Calico Cat Cafe in Folsom to adopt your new family member! BSR also runs a community clinic at their location in Folsom. They gave my precious Bunny kitten most excellent and compassionate care.
It’s incredibly disheartening when a nonprofit treats those trying to help with such disrespect. Our experience with Big Sky Ranch was deeply disappointing—from demanding money and fundraising support to refusing to return an animal because the donation amount wasn’t deemed sufficient. At no point were we provided with documentation of care, or transparency about how the funds were used. If you’re considering helping a pet in need, we strongly encourage you to explore other, more communicative and compassionate organizations.
disappointed. drive over an hour and a half with my 3 year old to go adopt a feral long haired kitten and was charged over $300 for him because he was long haired. sat in the cafe for over 2 hours before someone came to talk to us and then claimed she would give me a $50 discount because he was feral but total was still over $300.. “he’s expensive because he’s pretty, its so we know he’s going to a good home” our vet and friends laughed at us when we said how much we payed for him! embarrassing that they took advantage of us and the kitten just because he is long haired! complete rip off AND the brown haired lady took picture of my daughter the whole time.. with ZERO permission from me.
