The weekend after Christmas 2025 and our 4 year old Cavapoo, Duncan, suddenly became very lethargic, was vomiting and not able to poop. We tried to get him to eat a bit of rice and chicken but no luck getting him to eat or drink. We called Dr. Edgren at home, explained the situation and although he himself was ill and was on holiday he agreed to meet us the next day at the clinic. After almost 2 hours of examining Duncan, taking X-rays, giving Duncan an antibiotic shot and doing IV hydration we took Duncan home, hoping for improvement. At first we thought the X-rays showed a stomach blockage but when Duncan didn’t respond, we were back the next day for 2 more hours of X-rays, hydration IVs, different antibiotic injection and bloodwork. We took our dog in last week and are extremely disappointed with the level of care provided. The staff was disorganized and unprofessional, and the vet appeared rushed. Our aging dog’s treatment plan was not explained, or even feasible. Despite our dog being able to walk in and “progressing” during his time in the office we were rushed and had to carry him out. The doctors had been great to us for many years but in caring for our dog in his last days this clinic could not meet my dogs needs. He was in pain after leaving this clinic until we found a vet with more compassion and time for his situation.
