The staff were great at BCAS, but the baby I adopted on Sunday now has Parvo. They apparently gave him his vaccine, but he was in another kennel with another dog. If you are deciding to adopt from there, please ask them to test for parvo before you take those babies home because now my baby is fighting for his life at the vet.
Please before you purchase a pet, please consider an animal rescue. The staff at Bell County do a great job with the limited resources they have. You can tell they care for the animals with a deep passion. I got my lite buddy there yesterday.
Walked in to adopt an animal and there staff is rude no one was helping till I open a cat cage to take a photo and the lady almost had a heart attack. Cant even look at the dogs without having someone beside you. Will take my business somewhere else
Went to adopt a kitten specifically asked if kitten was healthy and okay (as he was very small for his age) was assured he was well taken care of by his mama cat he was still with. Was given him and they waved the adoption fee. He then did not seem to transition well (assumed due to leaving mother, not because he was very sick) did everything I could to help him. But ended up returning him 4 days later as he basically died in my arms. They began to blame me for this (I have owned cats my whole life and taken care of many sick cats) and then would not allow me to adopt a new healthy kitten for my three children who were extremely sad about the whole situation. I would not go to them if you want to make sure you get a healthy animal who won’t pass within days of being adopted. ( also his two
They failed to disclose that the dog we picked out had both heartworms and mammary cancer. My children were devastated. Adopt through a reputable nonprofit organization instead and save yourself the grief.
