We absolutely love, Dr. Bates and Bates Animal hospital! Always friendly and professional. It is clear that everyone at Bates Animal hospital loves animals. If I could give them more than five stars, I would.
Dr. Bates & his staff are a incredibly caring, compassionate, and supportive team. You can rest assured your pet is in the best hands with Dr. Bates. He’s my Vet for life.
Recently we had to make the hard decision to put our best furry friend of 17 years down. It was a painful decision for me, my fiance, and our kids but the staff there were amazing. They showed us care and compassion as well as gave us as much time and patience needed. They made an incredibly hard and painful decision a little more tolerable. We appreciate every single person involved in this process for the kindness and generosity they showed. I really, truly appreciate how they took his quality of life into consideration instead of just pushing medicating to extend life. It shows their true care for what they do and for the animals and families they work with and the true show of a good veterinarian.
This review is going to be a long one, but I find it necessary to give this much detail so you can understand the severity of the issue. The reason I took my cat to Dr. Bates was because of all the positive reviews but my experience with him was quite negative. My cat was sneezing up blood since April of this year, and his solution was to get most of his teeth removed. While I agreed that tooth extraction was necessary because he had a few bad ones I didn’t believe that was the cause of the blood since it was coming directly out of his nose and not his mouth. About 6 weeks after extraction when his gums were completely healed the bloody sneezing continued and now his breathing had become extremely labored, to the point it sounded as if he was snoring, constantly. Of course we took him back
