My cat had a herpes flare up so I sent my boyfriend with the cat to get him an antiviral. He came back empty handed saying the vet thinks he will get over it on his own. I called multiple times insisting I know my cat well and he needs an antiviral. The vet charged us $50 for a vitamin supplement instead. I feel like this place doesn't listen or care. My cat is still very sick. Will never be coming back.

This place has honestly been very hit or miss for me. Some of the front desk staff are great: friendly, competent, helpful, and easy to work with. Other times, the experience is the complete opposite. I have had visits where I was not given a receipt, was ignored for stretches of time, or felt like the staff was cold and dismissive. The same goes for the veterinary care itself. Some of the vets here are fantastic: attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and clearly invested in both you and your pet. Other times, it feels rushed, like you are inconveniencing them, or like they do not fully know why your pet is there in the first place. I still support this clinic because the pricing is fair, it is locally owned, and there are genuinely good people here. But service quality can really vary dependi

I’m so grateful for the excellent service at Bastrop Veterinary! I was able to get an appointment quickly for our dog, Casper. Dr. Darren Weiss and his assistant Deanna were attentive, kind, and truly listened to our concerns. They treated Casper with great care, and Dr. Weiss showed genuine concern for our dog throughout the visit — something that’s rare to find in a veterinarian. I’m very thankful and happy with the experience. This will definitely be our go-to place for Casper’s care. 100% recommended!

My dog always has the best experience, and Liz at the front desk is genuinely the sweetest. I'm a very nervous person so i ask a lot of questions and she answers them all with such patience. She makes a stressful situation like having to head to the vet so much easier to deal with.
