I just got my beautiful baby boy here, and I am in love beyond belief! The staff here are amazing, and my adoption process was such a wonderful experience. Neutered & vaccinated, my boy is the sweetest. They gave me the best start to furry parenthood. My first shelter experience and I would shout from the highest rooftop about it. People are nice and this is were we got our baby girl Malinois. They have a pretty good selection of animals just have try to book appointments ahead of time. But worth taking a look for your new fur baby.

THIS SHELTER IS A KILL-SHELTER! Please do not surrender here unless you are specifically looking for a place to put the animal down. I recently dropped off a rescue (that I spent 5 months nursing back to health) and specifically requested that the dog not be euthanized because I was willing to keep her. I informed the staff in person, via daily emails and frequent check in calls to ensure the message was received and was told by multiple staff members I could retrieve the dog if she could not be housed. They killed her after only 6 days in the shelter claiming she had heartworms which was impossible since she had been spayed and tested the week prior and I had her on NexGard Plus for the last 5 months (AND SHE WAS AN INDOOR DOG). We found a stray on the street, took him to the emergency vet to get his chip scanned and try and get in touch with the owner. The chip provided details that the dog we found was adopted from BARC 9 months prior. We took him home, as it already late - cleaned him up a bit and fed him. IN ORDER TO DO THE RIGHT THING, we came by BARC the next day and asked if they can get in touch with the owner. They said they will, and tried to get in touch with them. We also told them, if the owner does not want this dog, or if it was indeed abandoned, we would like to adopt him. They said they will make a note if it. Following my appointment, my 23-year-old daughter and I visited Barc, where a warm and radiant staff member greeted us with a contagious smile, guiding us toward the receptionist who shared Drew's story. With his ID number, pictures, and kennel location in hand, we walked toward our future companion, and it was love at first sight - Drew was ready for his forever home. Over the moon, we headed back to finalize, only to encounter an unexpected twist - a rescue had claimed him.
