I want to be clear: the staff is generally nice, and the veterinarian herself is kind and passionate about her job. It’s unfortunate she works for a company whose practices feel greedy and manipulative. Every visit seems to come with new ways to add charges, but today was the final straw. Our dog was being treated for an ear infection, so vaccines were postponed due to his immune system being compromised. That made sense. We were told to return in a month for a follow-up, and that the follow-up visit would be significantly discounted compared to a normal exam. Today was that follow-up. I was informed the infection-causing bacteria was gone, with just minor buildup left. They offered to “test it” (a swab under a microscope) for $60. I have taken my two older kitty gatos, Betty White and Truffles, to see the vet for various issues and have been met with professional and courteous customer service. The staff has called to check in with each of them and I am happy I had a nice experience so far. We love our fur babies and want great care for them at a reasonable price, and I believe I have both at Banfield.

DO NOT COME HERE. They are more focused on money and selling subscriptions than taking care of your pet. My husband took my cat there today. They LIED to him and told him that my cat was already enrolled in the optimum wellness plan in the past and offered to re sign him up for it. My cat was NEVER enrolled in this program. The “contract” that was filled out for this new subscription lists MY name on it as the plan holder, not his, and was NEVER signed by me as I was NOT EVEN THERE. Yet I checked the app, and sure enough they enrolled my cat for a nearly $60 a month subscription that is a mandatory 12 months (even if your pet dies) that AUTO RENEWS unless you call an 800 number to cancel and buy yourself out. I will not be renewing with this vet. The plans are already expensive, require auto-renewal, and I still have to pay out of pocket at every visit despite paying $80/month for their senior plan. I’m also concerned because after being taken inside, my dog has been traumatized and refuses to go back in. Support was dismissive and unhelpful. Very disappointing experience.
