Banfield Pet Hospital

I really like Dr. Nichols! She is great and so knowledgeable! I stay with Banfield specifically because of her knowledge base. She has helped our dog with ear infections and our older dog who has urinary issues. She has also cleaned their teeth and applied sealants and did a great job. The only reason I deducted a star is because Banfield can be so expensive! I have our dogs in the wellness plan and I'm still spending a fortune. Many vets in this area are expensive though so sometimes you have to just find a vet you like.

I was very disappointed when the female vet told me that my dog pooped and peed because he was anxious that he was going to get shots and told me that it was "unhealthy" for my dog to be anxious to get his shots and the vet wanted him to be medicated for anxiety. The assistant was standing next to the doctor and had a smirk on her face when the vet mentioned that it was unhealthy for me not to medicate my dog with trazodone to prevent him from getting anxious to the extent of pooping or peeing. I thought pooping and peeing is natural and an anxious dog who is being malhandled could get anxious resulting in pooping and peeing on himself and i see nothing unhealthy with that. Avoid taking your pet here. We brought our dog in for an infected anal gland, usually very simply treated with clindamycin which is an antibiotic. They insisted on taking our dog behind closed doors for the examination because the vet was monitoring a dog under anesthesia. This is poor scheduling planning on their part. After finally agreeing to allow our dog to go back there because they wouldn’t take no for an answer, I requested that they do not touch her anus or try to express the glands as its very painful and infected. When our dog was brought back, we were informed they internally palpated her anal glands despite our request NOT to and it ultimately ended up making it worse. The doctor insisted on expressing the anal glands, which is not recommended for a infection. In the end, they

We’ve been taking our dog here for years and their staff are always so nice and helpful. Most of the doctors are amazing, but wanted to do a special shout out for Dr. Trevor Ashley who was incredibly informative and helpful with our visit for my dog’s pancreatitis. Thank you!!
