Our experience with Appalachian Dog Training was wonderful from start to finish. We enrolled our dachshunds in both their on-leash and off-leash programs, and it was truly a great experience for the dogs and us / dog parents! Leaving our boys for six weeks, we were very nervous. But we were referred by prior customers which created an instant baseline of trust (we saw well behaved dachshunds, what a rarity!). Katie and her team were incredibly patient, supportive and educational throughout the process. Their daily FB posts and training portal made me feel connected and reassured with pictures and videos showing my dachshunds learning and thriving. The weekly report cards were always our favorite email! What impressed us most was how real-life the training environment was. They worked a

We had not had a new puppy in 14 years when we got Rosie and were having so much trouble with every aspect of puppy training that we were seriously considering returning her to the breeder. Instead, we took Rosie to ADT for Puppy Head Start training. She was there for 3 weeks during which we received daily report cards and pictures. At the end of training, we received hands-on training from Katie. We also received a graduation video that we can use for reference when we have questions. ADT made a world of difference! Rosie had mastered house breaking, was able to sleep through the night in her crate, and had learned basic commands. Since then, we have attended some Saturday group sessions, where Rosie earned her AKC STAR Puppy certificate, and Rosie returned to ADT for 3 weeks of of

I had a wonderful experience at Appalachian Dog Training's on- and off-leash training with my 4 year old rescue. Katie's extensive use of positive reinforcement is a refreshing change from the techniques of most trainers in the area. As well as receiving excellent private training, my dog Winston got to improve his socialization skills with other dogs & people in group classes, as well as with a pony & giant rabbit. The change in his overall behavior has been amazing. Highly recommend Katie and Appalachian Dog Training.

I went to Katie to help me with my wonderful crazy 10 month old Airedale (Amara) who is very confident and can be a bit dominant and pushy. After 3 weeks with Katie and Appalachian Dog trainers, Amara, while still maintaining her wonderful quirky ADT personality, learned impulse control. From day one, after her completed training, we have been able to go everywhere public with confidence. She is able to meet people calmly, ignore other dogs when directed. I can’t thank you and your team enough for helping me and Amara. We look forward to the next step in her training off leash!!!!!

I brought home Rosie previously (Yellow 8) from Summer x Kendas litter early march, as a service prospect and my first puppy! I could not have been better matched, she slept through the night, we had very little accidents for potty training, and she has been the most attentive, food motivated, and focused pup! She is just now hitting adolescence and is about to complete her CGC, she has been so rock solid in her early service dog training and has had so much confidence in every situation! I am so thankful for Katie and how she set Rosie and I up for success!
