Everyone is very patient, helpful, informative, & caring! We called on our 1hr long drive over to make them aware we were bringing in my large dog who was having cluster seizures. They had us call when we parked & they immediately brought out the stretcher because he couldn’t walk. One vet tech quickly climbed in the back seat to help get him from the floor of our suv & on the stretcher. They kept me updated atleast twice a day for the 3.5 days he was there. They also said I can call any time to check on him & they sent me a picture of him when I asked! We really appreciate all they do!

Everyone there is amazing! Very professional but also on a personal bases as well! We have dealt with 3 of the practices there, CVCA, CVSS & AAVEC. All have my upmost respect! They have made a scary, stressful situation a lot easier! Thank you to each and everyone that has taken care of our Italian Greyhound, Amico!

Our dog Potato recently had surgery at Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists, and we’re so incredibly grateful for the care he received there. 🐾 Dr. Kane was wonderful. She was kind, patient, and took the time to explain everything to us both before and after Potato’s surgery, answering all of our questions and making sure we understood what was happening. In a really emotional and stressful moment for us, her calm and thoughtful approach made such a difference. While Potato was hospitalized, the team called us twice a day with updates about how he was doing. Those check-ins meant the world to us and really helped ease our minds while he was away from home. We have brought multiple pets here over the years. Everyone from the front desk staff to the techs and vets are amazing here. They really love the animals that they care for and it shows Emergency care is expensive, but they are worth every penny when your fur baby is in trouble. I'm grateful to have them right around the corner.

This place was amazing. After a hectic day with my local vet - who did not perform a scheduled surgery, AAVEC assessed Tucker and determined that his tail amputation was needed. He was left overnight under great care and picked up and ready to leave by 2pm the next day. The vet listened to our concerns and very empathetic to what was going on. Highly recommend!!
