I can’t believe I forgot to write this review sooner! Our dog got away from his dog sitter while we were out of the country and got hit by a car. The dog sitter took him to Wilkes Veterinary Hospital and I am so thankful she did. The vet who took care of his broken leg was incredible! Instead of a cast, he put pins in Rudy’s leg and it healed perfectly. Rudy hardly bothered with his “brace” except to lick around the sites of the pins. He now runs like lightening with absolutely no sign of any limp or scarring. I would 100% reccomend this office. The price of all the surgery and medicine was VERY reasonable as well. Thank you to all the staff.

We have 6 older rescue indoor cats. We take excellent care of them. We had our oldest cat Lola 19 all of a sudden stop eating and become very lethargic. After 48 hours of thinking she would snap out of it we took her to this hospital with no appointment. After a little wait they called us back and we met with Dr Chad. We found him to be old school and he knew his stuff...we have dealt with many vets over the years and he was in the top 2 of the most caring and #1 in knowledge. He told us what to do and gave use the meds and tools to do it. He also said if not better in 24 hrs bring her back. 24 hrs later we didnt notice much improvement, so we took her back and as promised he got her right in and gave us a "tube of food/nutrients and a syringe to feed her. Away we went and now 24 hrs later

After going here for years, I’m quite disappointed in my most recent experience. My 11 lb chihuahua mix has seizures and is prescribed 50 mg of zonisamide per day. He’s been on these 2x/day pills for 3 years now. When picking up the latest refill, the bottle is correctly labeled at 25 mg pills. However the pills inside are each 100 mg doses. Meaning 1 day of these pills would be 4x the daily dose prescribed. Just 2 days would be the equivalent of 8 days worth, 3 days would be 12 days worth of zonisamide, etc. If I didn’t research the refilled pills myself on drugs.com to identify them, my dog absolutely would have been killed by this mistake. I called the next morning and drove over a hour round trip come in to get them changed out. It seemed like no biggie to the staff. Nothing extend

I very much appreciate Animal Hospital of Wilkes! Went there for the first time today and everyone was very nice and treated me and my pet with such care. I always have anxiety about going to the vet but I will be bringing my baby here from now on. They were very helpful, they got answers and they saved my kitty and hopefully she’s on the road to recovery! Thank you so much!

I love the staff and the doctors. They seem to care for my fur babies as much as I do. Since it is a walk in hospital it makes it a little easier in an emergency (especially when emergencies cost $100000000 it seems) but the downside to that is sometimes there is a wait time. I drive 45 minutes each way to take my animals here and I wouldn’t change for the world.
