Animal and Bird Medical Center of Palm Harbor

We have been going to Animal and Bird for many years with our pets, and I can’t say enough about the level of care we’ve consistently received. The doctors here are true experts in their field. We recently added another kitty to our family and had the opportunity to visit their new location, and all I can say is WOW. The clinic is beautiful and so thoughtfully designed. From the separate waiting area for cats (so they’re not stressed by dogs) to the incredibly compassionate care room for transitioning pets, every detail reflects how deeply they care about both animals and their humans. We’ve known Dr. Murphy for years and trust him completely. Our 31 year old Quaker Parrot, Big Shot, was very sick. Dr. Shroder was a wealth of information and was very caring and compassionate. She performed a diagnostic procedure on him and we found he has a raging infection along with a couple other issues. Thanks to Dr Shroder and the techs our boy is still with us and doing much better. The entire staff that we interacted with were wonderful - polite, friendly, helpful and informative. I moved to St Petersburg from California with Toto and I was looking for the best avian vet in Florida. And I found him!! Dr. Joel Murphy is so knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful. During our first visit, he went over his diet and history. He gave me excellent recommendations on Toto's diet, probiotics, and herbal supplements. I don't like to travel much because I don't like leaving Toto since caring for a bird can be complicated. Luckily, Dr Murphy offers boarding for birds and I have left Toto with him during a work trip. Dr Murphys staff went above and beyond, they sent me pictures and email updates each day which calmed my nerves. And per Toto's report card, he didn't miss me while I was away 🥺. The team at Animal and Bird are the best group of humans that care deeply about animals - what more can you ask for in an animal hospital. They have the knowledge and the tech to back up every diagnosis/prognosis. They call after you leave to be sure things are going ok with your pet at home too! Your pets are in good hands with Dr. Murphy and team.

The staff and Doctors are exceptional! Their professionalism, empathy, and approachability far exceeds our expectations! We relocated to Tampa in 2021 and needed a Vet for our senior kitties and pup! Thank goodness we found Animal and Bird! The staff was so tender when our kitty and pup crossed over to Rainbow Bridge!
