All American Dogs

I adopted a dog through Miles of Hope, but the pet tag says he was housed here. He is a very sweet boy and very friendly. However, as of yesterday (I got him on Saturday so three days) we have found 7 ticks on this poor guy. When I adopted him they said they recently found one tick and treated him, but either they didn’t treat him or didn’t do an extensive exam after. He had three ticks in his ears that have obviously been there a while and some other on his ears and chest. We are taking him to the vet for a more extensive exam and to make sure he doesn’t have lymes or other diseases. However, I would be cautious about the conditions/medical diligence of this organization. No dog, especially not a sheltered dog, should have 7 ticks and likely more. Late review, but I wanted to thank Jennifer for taking my late call after a couple of crazy incidents. I took in a cat from a sweet elderly lady to foster while she was in the hospital but unfortunately never left and I had to keep this adorable elderly cat for a few months. Unfortunately she was miserable with my other two cats and was very unhappy here. But I had no place to turn too, no one could help. So she stayed here, unhappy. Just recently my father in law, (knowing I took in animals and fostered) brought me an extremely ill and elderly small dog. I wanted to post something to bring awareness related to All American Dogs in Pilot Point Texas. We had taken our dog Boomer to the a different vet on Wednesday to get his rabies shot. It had lapsed, which yes I know was our fault. He ended up biting the vet tech due to being scared which caused us to have to put him in quarantine. We followed what we were required to do and took him to be quarantined on Thursday morning at All American Dogs. Every day we called and checked in on him and we were assured he was doing good given the situation. We even asked for pictures since we were not allowed to see him, which for three days we were told we were going to get. Kind people who are working hard to find homeless animals homes! Great variety of cats and dogs. Call to make an appointment to find your new family member!

The staff are compassionate and competent. 9/10 I would recommend this place to someone looking for their next addition to the family.
