I called thinking this was just an overall rescue and I needed help with resources for my reactive dog and even though this specific rescue is just for Akitas, the owner was more than willing to help me find a solution to help train my dog. I definitely recommend this business and their willingness to help dogs in need! 🩷

Great shelter. Dorie is amazing and she is doing an fantastic job rescuing and find the right homes for the Akitas. I have rescued 2 dogs from her. One 13 years ago and one last year. I will continue to rescue from this shelter.

Wonderful shelter. Super nice adopter (Dori). I ended up with a beautiful 3yr old female. Well trained and adjusted to us fast. Great dogs, and a great service being provided.

It’s amazing how much this rescue does for the Akita breed. Dorie is forever helping people and answering questions on top of taking care of the overwhelming number of Akitas in her care. They are her #1 priority and it shows. She has dedicated her life to helping this breed. This rescue is top notch and takes extra care to be sure Akitas are placed in the RIGHT home, not just any home. You are cherished!

We have adopted several dogs from ARSF - each one a perfect match for our pack thanks to Dorie and how hard she tries to match the right dog to the right home! We are so happy with each and every one of our new additions over the last 10 years! Dorie is wonderful and though she is extremely busy taking care of so many akita orphans in need, she makes the time to talk to us whenever we need her. She and her volunteers have always been more than helpful in all of our adoptions. We highly recommend ARSF!!
