My fiance and I had a wonderful experience adopting our dog from Winnies Legacy Canine Rescue! The application process was very thorough and it was apparent that they really care about the dogs and making sure they are a right fit for the family! They have so many amazing dogs to choose from and they are honest about each dog. My suggestion if you are looking to add a dog/puppy to your family is to get pre-approved before setting your heart on a specific dog because the process does take time. The dogs at her rescue do find homes very quickly because they are all so great so don't get discouraged if the dog you originally wanted already found a forever home! We lost our dog to old age after having her for 15 years, our house was empty so we decided to check into rescues to save another that needed a forever home. We were referred to check into Winnies by a girl that adopted from there and we ended up with a great experience from Valerie and her helper that was there Sarah. We love Cherry, the new addition to our family and Winnies Legacy Canine Rescue. Valerie was thorough and communicative throughout the adoption process. Cherry came to us already well trained and loved at 4 months old. She is such an amazing puppy! We are so grateful for organizations like Winnies - they take such great care of the doggies and make sure they are placed in loving homes. ❤️

Valerie got back to us very fast with information and we were able to pick up our handsome puppy 3 days later. A little sooner than we thought we’d get a furry creature. Nevertheless the directions to Valerie’s were very clear, the process to get our pup overall very smooth and organized. And in the end we saved a little puppy from a kill shelter… so that’s a win.
