Wild Bird Sanctuary - Florida Keys Wild Bird Center

Clean, birds are taken well care of, and most importantly, their enclosures are big with a lot of branches and stuff for them inside. We spent about 25 minutes there and were able to see everything. The pelicans are really cool to watch. It's a donation honor system to enter. Recommended $10 each person (there's a cash collection box).

This was actually super freaking cute, donation based so no obligation but it feels good to give back to the community that helps wildlife. So many birds and a nice little trail to the back which leads to a serene backdrop of water and some greenery. Legit spent like 45 minutes there learning and feeling good to be around nature. A dope stop to make on the drive down or up!

This is another must visit place. We met a guy that helps them out a lot. They do REALLY GOOD WORK and rescue A LOT of birds and then release them back into the wild. There is a small fee ($10 ea) which is a donation to keep the place running! There are a lot of non-releasable birds in there. They have the reason why they cannot be released and details about the birds. There are several owls, hawks, and various water fowl. There are lots of educating things about birds, and it is a great place to take families to see cool birds. Help support these folks, as the keep the Keys wild and vibrant with the bird life!!

Up close and in great sized "flight" cages the numerous rescued birds including owls, hawks, pelicans and other local birds provided our best opportunity for viewing in the keys. So gratified to see the care that is taken in maintaining clean and well constructed holding pens. Easy walking paths extend through a mangrove tunnel to beach area as well. Well worth the suggested donation in a good cause!

Very well kept and great descriptions of each bird with facts and unique information. Good assortment and nice/knowledgeable volunteers. When you get near the end there is a beautiful ocean view as well. Wasn’t sure if we were going to make it by, but I’m so glad we did go. I thought it was going to be a 15min trip but it ended up being near an hour while we took our time.
