DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE UNLESS YOU ARE TAKING THE DOG HOME THE SAME DAY. My wife and I began the adoption process and immediately fell in love with one of their dogs. She checked every box we were looking for. We scheduled a meet-and-greet before Christmas and were told they prefer not to finalize adoptions over the holidays, which we completely understood. We also had one important concern we wanted answered regarding the dog’s hip injury so we could prepare an appropriate care plan. We were explicitly told that we were the only applicants for her and that if anyone else applied, we would be notified so we could make a same-day decision after receiving the results of an additional vet visit scheduled for after the new year. I cannot begin to describe the amount of gratitude pouring out of me for this animal shelter. They are helping me with a very delicate situation currently. They go above and beyond with a no-judgement attitude to help you with whatever it is you need from surrendering a pet to providing a vast list of resources for low cost clinics and spay/neuter programs in the area. Thank you to WOASH and their incredible foster families for taking on and caring for the vulnerable and at risk pets in the area.

This team is amazing!!! My husband and I showed up with a loose dog we rescued from the parkway east today. They were closed and it was after hours so I wasn’t expecting help but I knocked on their locked door and a very kind volunteer came out to help us. They were patient with the pup because he was extremely scared and they had a tough time scanning him for a microchip. Once they scanned him they identified the chip and tried to contact the owners multiple times. They put us into contact with Sable Kennels so we could take him there to wait for his family to get him. Wonderful people doing wonderful work!!

The worst Adoption experience of my life I went to try and find a cat over a week ago from this location and I felt racially profiled. I was told to fill out a application and literally almost a whole week went past before they reached back out and told me they were still checking my references and that If my current pets vaccinations were not up to date they couldn’t allow me to adopt a pet regardless If I cared to provide that information why is any of that necessary to adopt a current pet who needs a loving home? ..this location picks and chooses who they personally want to have a specific animal and I could feel the moment I left the location I was not going to be getting a call back .
