Wexford County Animal Shelter

Won’t answer the phone for appointments. Can hear them screaming at the dogs from outside while they ignore the phone. Front door is locked so even if you have an appointment there’s genuinely no way of entering for it. No website so you cannot create an appointment via the website. I wanted to make an appointment because a friend of mine got the most amazing dog from here. I guess they got lucky with when they called.

Very nice. The pup I got is so lovely and happy in his forever home. Please if you are able to, think about rescuing a pet they really just need a loving family who won't give up on them. Was gonna be named thor but we switched it to loki due to him having quite the mischievous personality 😅

Went down there they showed me the dogs and I found the perfect one. I came by the next day to get her and she was nice and clean and she got to take some toys home. The people are awesome. I've seen some reviews on where it's appt only. I literally drove there on a whim and picked out my dog that day. 100% recommend.

Why is there not a website? Am I hearing u need an appointment? No walk ins? Can I come and donate to the shelter? Please create a website.

This was one of the only shelters that we visited/contacted that treated us with respect and kindness. They were intelligent and thoughtful, and really seemed to care about the animals, but weren't over-the-top ridiculous about vetting potential adopters.
