Several years ago Dr Gardners partner Dr Costello diagnosed and treated (with injections of course) my mare for SI joint issues based on ultrasounds he did. As 2 courses of SI joint injections did nothing for her, I requested the ultrasounds be sent to another vet for second opinion. I was told recently by a technician of Dr Gardner’s that it takes a specialist to read these ultrasounds. These ultrasounds were reviewed by Dr Sarah Pulchaski, world renowned equine radiologist, who stated that the ultrasounds were of such poor quality there was no way to diagnose anything, much less SI joint issues. There was no way Dr Costello could have decided upon that diagnosis with those ultrasounds. As a side note, the veterinary assistant working there at the time slapped my horse repeatedly to keep

Dr. Marty Gardner is an amazing lameness vet. I will only take my horses for lameness to him for now on. Looks over the entire horse to see what's going on and will give you a diagnosis by end of the appointment. Nice clinic and great staff as well.

I took my mare to Dr. Marty for lameness that my local vet had been treating for 6 to 8 weeks without any improvement. Dr. Marty and the staff were right on time for the appointment. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and thorough. Once the exam, ultrasound and x-rays were completed, Dr. Marty gave me a very complete diagnosis. He explained everything clearly and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed during the appointment and when I did leave, I had a very clear understanding of what was wrong and how to address it. The drive up to Dr. Marty was definitely worth it (3 hours for me)! I do highly recommend him and I will certainly go to him in the future should the need arise. Thank you Dr. Marty and staff!
