Vinton County Dog Shelter

The dog warden is a great guy and you can tell that he loves the dogs in his care. It's a no kill shelter, but the man needs to have more power to seize abused and neglected animals. The county prosecutor needs to get on board with charges for people who abuse or neglect their dogs. Anyone in law enforcement knows that people who abuse animals almost always will also abuse children, the elderly, etc. Anyone that gets away with the abuse of a dog will most certainly move on to anyone they perceive as a weaker individual. All law enforcement knows this, so to turn a blind eye is only fueling the potential problems of escalation in the future!

We adopted our dogs here, two so far! I highly recommend going here to get your pup. They are kind and caring and knowledgeable about the pups they have, working hard to make sure that they are getting the best care under the circumstances. They are great at finding the right match!

Amazing shelter recently volunteered here the lady who currently works here treats the individual animals with good care and kindness.

Sheila has been very patient with us so we can keep our dogs and find forever homes for the 2 dogs we were taking care of !! I I want to thank her for her recommendations and helping 2 little dogs that need a home they are very loving and someone will sure be happy to have them in their home !!

It's a good temporary home for the animals nice and clean the dog Warden is very helpful and is very good with the animals makes the animals feel loved and for the ones that she can't save she make them very comfortable over all she is good at what she does and she cares
