VEG ER for Pets

My first visit to a VEG ER, when I walked in, it was so different than any vet/ER i've ever been to. Everything is open concept, but I quickly felt at ease when welcomed by the friendly staff. Once I was seated on a comfy couch, the techs and doctors came over and sat on the floor to talk with me and my dog. I could tell they love animals, and love what they do. They work well with each other and I could see the respect they showed everyone. I did have to wait because there were more urgent emergencies, but they came back to check on us several times and I never felt neglected. The fees were as I would expect for an ER, while the medications were a little more pricey. They also forwarded my dog's visit records to my regular vet which was nice. We called ahead to get advice on treatment. When I arrived I was met at the door, triaged and my Bloodhound, who typically isn’t a good patient, was given an ultrasound and needle aspiration within 10 minutes of arrival. I was included in the care as his advocate, and we did the care in the open ER. I’m not sure my dog knew he was at the Vet! After the test we were offered a quiet room and staff made me comfortable with a coffee. After test results we were given our treatment plan and checkout was performed in the room, not at a desk. My test results and care plan were shared with my vet by VEG for follow on care. This was our second time there and both experiences went the same. Perfect

VEG has been truly amazing! All of the staff were so kind and helpful. We were accidentally sent home with only one tablet of a medication and I called and they ubered it to me IN A SNOWSTORM!!! Truly above and beyond care and compassion. Thank you Dr. Hicks, Dr. Roper, and all the amazing nurses, techs, and staff for taking such good care of my girl.

Wow, this facility is amazing. My dog and I just spent 2 nights here and I was constantly blown away by the thoughtfulness of the staff and the efficiency of the operation. The staff was so compassionate, kind, efficient, intelligent, communicative…I could go on. Not only did they take great care of my dog, but they went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable by providing a bed, pillow, and blanket. I’ve been to other pet ERs and have worked in healthcare for a long time, and this place is top notch. I’ve never been somewhere where they let you stay with your pet the entire time, and man what a difference that made for both of us. My experience at Veg was amazing. My spicy cat Andre had been seen first for vomiting and leaking mucus, which turned into urinary problems and then a blockage. They were able to diagnose him with FIC and give us a recommendation for PU surgery. After almost 2 weeks of coming in almost every day, sometimes twice a day due to Andre’s condition, we were seen almost immediately every time, and the staff was always very friendly, patient, and interested in Andre’s health and recovery. Dealt with my anxious calls, Andre’s spiciness, helped work around budgeting, and overall amazing experience for what was the worst couple weeks of my life. They even clipped his nails for me when he went for his x ray! I truly think Andre wouldn’t have received the care he needed and recovered if it wasn’t for t
