VEG ER for Pets

Wednesday, 3/25/26, our kitty Nigel was showing signs of a bowel obstruction. We brought him to VEG Oak Brook where he was immediately assessed. He ended up spending all day there and needing surgery that night and the entire care team was unbelievably caring and helpful throughout the entire experience. There was never a moment where I felt unsure of his safety in the care of the team. Dr. Todd and Dr. Evans, with the help of all the nurses and techs, saved his life. While I hope to never need them again, VEG was amazing and I’d be sure to go back if another emergency happens! Their staff were all around so caring for both me and my dog from the moment of my frantic call until a few days later when my dog was released. It felt welcoming to come visit anytime and the comfort room for extended visits was so helpful. Gooze was in good hands and I witnessed many other pets get the proper help in triage in the open concept treatment area.

VEG in Oak Brook was referred to me by my DR at DeVries Hospital in Elmhurst. I was in a total panic given my diabetic cat was provided double insulin by accident yesterday morning. They are a walk in ER and I was assisted immediately by the staff. The front desk and the vet staff were sympathetic with my emotions given I was very very worried about my cat Henry and his state with double the insulin. You can stay as long as you want as your companion is being taken care of by the staff which I really appreciate. They have couches and areas in the space to sit. It is an open floor plan which I also appreciate being in a room and everyone on the vet side is in the same room vs separated rooms. They kept me in the loop and made henry very comfortable for his 24 hour stay. they made me fee

i cannot express how incredible everyone is at this vet. my sweet girl, ivy, was admitted for two nights, and unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge while she was there. all of the staff members took such great care of her and treated her like she was one of their own dogs. i was able to stay with her for most of the time, and not only did the staff care for her, but they also cared for me, which meant a lot to me. the receptionists, nurses, and doctors all made sure that i was doing alright and always explained everything in ways that i could understand. michelle, ivy’s overnight nurse for both nights, was absolutely incredible and veg is so lucky to have her. she got us our own private room and when i had to leave, she sat with ivy and made sure she was not alone. when it was her time,

I could not be more grateful for this place. My dog Bryce was vomiting and not eating his food and I immediately took him here. Upon arrival, the staff was very helpful, kind, and friendly. They did xrays and unfortunately he needed surgery. I was terrified, but the staff was so incredibly helpful and confident they helped ease my anxiety. They allowed me to be with him the whole time. I was even able to watch his surgery. The surgeons gave me updates, the receptionists offered water, and the assistants were all kind. I stood with Bryce until they finished surgery and they did a wonderful job! After losing my other dog a few months ago, I was terrified about losing Bryce.
