VEG ER for Pets

This was my first experience bringing a pet to an Emergency Vet and I will 100% be bringing my pets here again (hopefully not anytime soon though). All the staff here are amazing. Dr. Dec, Shay, Kelly and Kat were so gentle and patient with our German shepherd, Lilly. We were triaged into a small alcove set up with couches while we waited for blood work and X-ray results. During our 4hr stay, multiple individuals asked if we needed any snacks or water. Due to the open floor plan you are able to hear some of what is happening with other animals. I heard every worker have the same care and compassion for every pet they saw during our stay.

The VEG ER team went above and beyond caring for my cat during her recent visit when she had swallowed a long piece of string. We were seen immediately after walking in and Dr. Dec did a great job walking me through everything and helping me make informed decisions. I was able to stay with my cat for the entire duration of our 12+ hour stay and we even had our own private room with a couch which helped us both stay calm. My cat gets significantly more stressed and reactive when I’m not at the vet with her, so getting to be by her side the entire time was incredibly helpful. The team also did a great job taking care of me and checked in often, asking if I needed anything and bringing water and snacks as needed. They even washed and dried my sweater when my cat’s fluids got on it and provide

My 10 year old black lab ate something he shouldn’t have and gave himself a bowel obstruction. Our primary vet referred us here and I am thankful. The staff are all incredibly competent and compassionate. Our pet was quickly triaged, diagnosed, and a plan formulated. He had an operation to relieve the obstruction after a short period of giving him fluids and antibiotics to get him prepared. Every effort was made to keep him and us comfortable throughout the ordeal. I appreciated being able to be with him throughout his treatment and post-op hospital stay. Both my dog and I were more at ease as a result. If I hadn’t been able to stay or preferred not to, I know he would have been in good hands with the wonderful team at VEG. Really nice experience, my silly dog got hit in the face and his eye got red and droopy. They reassured me over the phone that it was not likely to be serious, but probably uncomfortable, so I brought him in around 9:30pm. We got home around 11 and they were very kind in having us hold him for procedures, petting him while we waited, and offering him a bed and us some snacks. I really like that they text you the quote to approve instead of verbally giving you numbers to try to do mental math on. When I consented to treatment I knew exactly how much it would run me and what they were going to do. I would absolutely bring any of my animals here again

We cannot say enough good things about this emergency vet and their entire team. Dr. Dec was Freya's surgeon, and she was absolutely amazing — compassionate, thorough, and truly invested in Freya’s care every step of the way. From the very beginning, they treated us like family and Freya like their own. During her first surgery, they worked with us on pricing, which meant more than they probably know. When she needed a second surgery, they went above and beyond and only charged us for the cultures. That level of kindness and understanding is rare.
