VCA Plainfield Animal Hospital

This is a clinic full of people that care deeply about animals. I found out about it through my sister and her boss, who both work as receptionists and stand-in techs. This clinic has taken care of two of my dogs. The first, an Australian Shepherd named Grace, they helped cross the rainbow bridge once a large tumor was found on her back leg. They’ve helped my second dog Piglet with emergencies and regular illness/physical check up visits. They correctly identified the disease Piglet had (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis) and sent her to Ocean State at the appropriate time. I’ve never felt pressured to do additional testing or add additional products to my end of visit bill. Dr. Taylor is Piglet’s primary vet, and she is WONDERFUL! The staff is always friendly. Recently I went for our male dogs check up after being fixed and the nurse helped me out getting to the room and back to my vehicle as I had my baby and dog who is a puller when he's nervous. It really made the vist so much easier for me. We have used them for years now they have taken care of 3 dogs 2 rats and a frog we had.

My first experience here was when I had to put my cat down. It was a very sad day and they were so kind. They sent us a card signed from the staff. My second experience was when another cat had cancer and had to be put down. The clinic stayed open longer so my daughter could drive home from college to be with us.I now take both my cats here. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Always greeted with a warm hello. Dr. Gilmore is fantastic with taking great care of my cats, Max and Cole. I was recommended to coming here right after we relocated to CT. We made the right decision. I definitely recommend coming here!

Absolutely the worst experience with Dr. Gilmore. Miscommunication between staff, but front desk staff clearly was able to warn me about Dr. Gilmore. Take your money elsewhere- all staff I spoke to take their pets to other places.

I just want to say thank you to Dr. Gilmore. We brought our cat here for a second opinion after a not so friendly visit to another local vet. Dr Gilmore was very very thorough. She took the time to answer any and all of our questions and explained everything start to finish. The compassion she had for our cat was unmatched. Although the diagnosis was still hard , she made us feel much better about our decisions going forward. Since our initial visit we’ve come back for another check up with even more questions and to seek her professional opinion. She was extremely honest with us and upfront. As we near the end of life for our cat I am so grateful we have had the chance to have her care for our cat. We will be switching all of our pets to this vet & office. I can’t say eno
