VCA Ocean County Animal Hospital

I will be forever grateful for the staff at VCA. My cat passed away at home unexpectedly. He was 17. One day he was fine, the next under the weather, the next day gone. I was wrecked. I’m new to the area and not a client at VCA. I am now!! (I have 2 other cats) I called them and they were so companionate and understanding. They explained my choices carefully. Took my information and told me they would have a room waiting for me. Everyone from the person who handled my call, to the staff at the facility, was so caring and patient and kind. They made a horrible gut wrenching day a little less awful. I left my Max there knowing they would treat him with the love and respect he deserved. Bless your hearts and thank you. Lisa and Max

One word: EXHORBITANT!! We took our two (small dogs) in for a well checkup and vaccinations. The total bill came to over $1,000!!! That's insane. AND they charged us $34 to clip my chihuahua's nails. Then we got an estimate for dental surgery for our other dog and it was in the ballpark of $3,000! We went back to our vet up north for an estimate and it is only between $500-$800. The doc and staff seemed nice enough, but, needless to say, we will not be returning to this place.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. We have been coming here for 2 years and we just had to put our dog down yesterday. The staff and vet that helped us that day were absolutely amazing. They made us and our pup very comfortable for the remainder of our time together. They explained in detail what would happen and gave us all the time we needed. They also had a little basket with tissues, water, and other helpful things. They were so incredibly sweet helpful and most importantly knowledgeable when it came to my little senior Chihuahua. I can’t even begin to explain the gratitude I have for the Dr and staff who helped us today. Our sweet girl was suffering and we had to come to terms with the difficult decision to help her go with peace and dignity. After getting denied an appointment at my regular vet office, I called here and from the moment I explained our situation they were nothing short of kind and accommodating. We were able to get her a same day appointment here at VCA. The vet techs were gentle and treated our girl with care and compassion. They spoke to her and made her feel loved. The doctor was honest and empathetic, gave us our options and his opinion based on her grim prognosis. They gave us all the time we needed to decide which route to go.
